Heated paraffin wax therapy is quite common and widely used to aid in the treatment of conditions such as:

  • Arthritis and Bursitis
  • Stiff Joints, Tendonitis, Tennis Elbow
  • Fibrositis, Scar Tissue
  • Inflammation
  • Muscle Spasms, overworked/Fatigued Muscles, Fibromyalgia
  • Psoriasis, Eczema

One of the overlooked benefits of paraffin therapy is that it soothes and moisturizes the skin, opens pores, increases circulation, and promotes a sense of calm in the patient.  This soothing therapy which enables you to treat specific areas of the body and pinpoint the management of treatment, is increasingly being used in rehabilitation and therapy clinics.

Paraffin wax therapy can be incorporated into a normal massage treatment.  Your hand or foot to be treated is immersed gradually into the warm, liquid paraffin wax in a plastic bag, or the wax is applied over cheese cloth if treating the back or other body surface. While exposing the area into the paraffin wax , layers of paraffin wax solidify. Once the moisturising warm wax has had its effect for several minutes, it is peeled off and the area is then ready for massage, stretching, exercise, or additional therapeutic measures.

If would like to try hot wax therapy, contact us or book online a regular massage, and then put in the “special request box”, that you would like a paraffin wax treatment with your massage.  We will have it warm and ready for you when you arrive!
