Acupuncture can treat several digestion issues
As a traditional holistic practice, acupuncture evolved through a “whole systems” perspective and works by supporting normal functioning. This “wholistic” approach is often an overlooked and underestimated complement to medical treatments for non-muscular issues like digestion conditions.
The effects of acupuncture are subtle and cumulative, and when combined with exploring changes in diet and lifestyle, set the stage for natural healing of stomach or bowel problems.
We tailor adapt each client’s treatment based on their unique set of health circumstances and apply traditional principles of Oriental Medicine to support their underlying function and ability to heal.
Research on mechanism shows that acupuncture has some big whole system effects through the autonomic nervous system. Acupuncture promotes the “rest and digest” system, also known as the parasympathetic nervous system, and on the other side it reduces the “fight-or-flight” system, also known as your sympathetic nervous system.
