Melanie’s special interest in woman’s health
Melanie has particular skills and success in treating women’s health issues including fertility, pregnancy, dysmenorrhea, PCOS, and menopause. Melanie’s special interest in women’s health was due to her own difficult journey with dysmenorrhea. As a teenager she struggled with very painful periods. She turned to her GP for help and was simply told that “periods hurt”, and was advised to take some Advil and put heat packs on her abdomen. Unfortunately, that didn’t always work, and she wondered if this all suffering was a necessary part of womanhood. Several years later she found that acupuncture and a more holistic approach to the problem were more effective at treating painful periods and other conditions not easily treated by medications. Melanie finds it very rewarding to help clients with issues for which conventional therapies may not always be effective alone.
